PADI OPEN WATER - LEARN TO SCUBA DIVE
Get Started:
- Age 10 to none of your business
- Medical release - any YES means you need your doctor's OK / A prescription slip or the medical form Medical Release
- Purchase PADI Open Water Crew Pack & DVD at the shop . . .OR
- SIGNUP for e-Learning NOW! A little more expensive BUT conveninet for folks on the go!
- Do the Knowledge Review at the end of each chapter (five chapters) OR
- Go online and prepare for a 20 question review
- Classroom - go over Knowledge Reviews - take quizzes & exam OR
- Online folks take a 25 question review
- 5 Pool dives - Learn and practice skills
- Don't drown in the deep end for 10 minutes
- SNORKEL or swim a few laps in the pool
- Four check out dives - show off your skills
- Get your picture taken for your certification card
Adventure Scuba provides:
- BCD - Bouyancy Control Device
- Regulator - for breathing underwater
- Wetsuit - if needed
- Tank - not heavy in the water
- Weights - yes, you need them to sink
- AIR - of course!
Personal Gear - Rent OR try and Buy:
- Mask - Fit is critical
- Fins - Try the split fins, same propulsion, less effort
- Boots - wade in and put on fins
- Snorkel - Dry snorkels make it easy and FUN!

- Sat & Sun, Feb 11 & 12
- Sat & Sun, Feb 25 & 26
- Sat & Sun, Mar 10 & 11
- Sat & Sun, April 14 & 15
- Sat & Sun, Apriil 28 & 29
What are check out dives
- Check out dives are four dives done over two days - not necessarily consecutive
- The first dive is a fun dive - take tour of the area you are diving
- The next three dives you show a PADI instructor what you learned and practiced in the pool
Where and when (Schedule) can I do them?
- AT the Philadelphia Quarry - an excellent dive site with good visibility - May/June through Oct/Nov
- AT Ginnie Springs/Crystal River with Manatees - over New Years or Knox County Spring Break
- OR do a referral to any other PADI instructor anywhere in the world - Schedule before you go
